Route Management That Balances Profit and Service

Build every route around three numbers: length, revenue, and contract count. Drag, drop, re-order, and see the profitability of each change in real time.

Routes built in a spreadsheet, not a system

Most snow removal companies still build their routes in a spreadsheet or a paper binder, rebuilt every season by one person who "knows the territory". It works, until that person leaves, or until contracts change faster than the binder can keep up.

How it works

  1. Every contract is a stop on the map

When a client signs a contract, their address becomes a stop in Follosoft, automatically geocoded and ready to drop onto a route.

  2. Build routes with drag and drop

Add, remove, and re-order stops with a mouse. The system recalculates distance, drive time, and revenue live as you work.

  3. See the numbers that matter

Each route shows total length, total revenue, number of contracts, and average revenue per kilometer. Aim for the target, adjust, and publish.

Why it matters

Every route has a known margin

You stop running routes that lose money because the numbers are in front of you.

Seasonal rebuilds in minutes, not days

When 60 contracts renew with changes, you rebalance the routes in an afternoon, not a week.

Nothing depends on one person's memory

The route knowledge lives in the system. New dispatchers can pick up where the last one left off.

Works hand-in-hand with GPS

Once published, the route flows straight to the operator's tablet as turn-by-turn directions.

A real scenario from the field

A growing company in the Eastern Townships added 110 residential contracts in a single off-season. In the old world, that would have meant one long week of the owner redrawing routes on printed maps. In Follosoft, the dispatcher imported the new contracts, let the system geocode them, and rebalanced four routes in a single afternoon, ending with four routes that each hit the target of 3 hours of driving and a minimum revenue per kilometer.

Route management, answered

Can we import our current routes?

Yes. Follosoft imports contracts from a spreadsheet, geocodes each address, and lets you drop them onto routes in the order you choose.

Does it automatically optimize?

Follosoft suggests an order based on proximity, and you stay in control of the final sequence. Fully automatic routing is available but most operators prefer the hybrid approach.

Can we build commercial and residential routes differently?

Yes. Each route has its own service class, SLA, and priority, so commercial and residential logic stay separate.

What happens when a client cancels mid-season?

Remove the stop from the route with one click. The next time the operator's tablet syncs, the driveway disappears from their list.
