Understanding snow removal through experience

In 2005, Jean-Luc Sigouin was running a residential snow removal business. Routes were handed out on paper, operators had to know their customers by heart, and checking progress meant driving out to the job sites.

After acquiring two competitors, his fleet reached 32 tractors. That growth exposed the limits of the way things worked: how could he coordinate more crews while keeping a clear view of the operation?

The need was practical: give operators clear instructions and know what was happening in the field.

The rise of GPS opened up a new possibility. Jean-Luc put forward the idea that would become FolloSOFT:

Field experience, backed by a whole team

Jean-Luc brought his understanding of snow removal operations. Software developers brought the expertise to turn it into an intuitive tool for operators and managers. FolloSOFT grew out of that collaboration.

The software was put to work in his snow removal business as its fleet grew from 32 to over 150 tractors. That growth gave FolloSOFT a real operating environment, with the coordination and tracking demands of a business at that scale.

Other snow removal contractors then adopted the solution. Their needs and ways of working broadened that founding experience and helped the software evolve.

Today, Jean-Luc has handed leadership to a team of experts: a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and executives leading each department — sales, technology, product, customer support, customer success and marketing.

Together, they lead FolloSOFT and guide its growth, building on the field experience that started the company. Working with their teams, they develop the platform and support the businesses that use it every day.
